Missing Goodbyes: African American Losses in a Time of Pandemic

We face many challenges involving the culture and politics around death care in the African American community. During the pandemic, the goodbyes were missed and postponed. The “Homegoing” services, open caskets, musical selections, funeral programs and repasts were often missed or limited or postponed. Now what? Join us for a conversation about the unique challenges faced by this community and good ways to cope with our losses.
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR ALL WORKSHOPS:
Registration is first-come, first-serve, so call and register early. Participants must sign up in advance.
Free and open to all who live or work in Montgomery or Prince George’s County.
Unless otherwise noted, workshops will be online through the Zoom platform, so you will need to have internet access with audio/video capabilities.
