Position Summary:

Provides administrative support for the Volunteer Services Department. Responsible for the recruitment of volunteers in Prince George’s County. Assists with orientation and training of volunteers for Casey House and Hospice at Home, focusing on Prince George’s County. Assists with the assignment of volunteers to meet the needs of the agency, patients and families.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred.
  • Two years of previous administrative support and/or managerial experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Previous significant experience as a volunteer.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate in an empathic manner over the telephone and in person.
  • Must be able to work independently, take initiative, be proactive and attend to details.
  • Ability to respond to multiple requests for assistance.
  • Ability to drive to different locations throughout Prince George’s County for volunteer recruiting efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the recruitment of volunteers for Prince George’s County.
  • Assists with the orientation and training of new volunteers.
  • Assists with maintaining records to ensure the department meets compliance requirements.
  • Assists with assignment of volunteers to meet the needs of the agency, patients and families.
  • Actively supports volunteers through recognition and responsiveness to needs.
  • Participates in the planning and execution of volunteer events and in-services.
