Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice Celebrates New King Farm Office, Marking the Next Chapter in 45 Years of Compassionate Care 

New space strengthens the organization’s ability to respond to patients and families, support clinical teams, and expand specialized hospice and palliative care throughout the community. 

ROCKVILLE, MD — September 9, 2026 — Today, Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice celebrated the opening of its new King Farm office with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking an important milestone during the nonprofit organization’s 45th anniversary year and reaffirming its longstanding commitment to serving patients and families throughout Maryland. 

The celebration brought together organizational leaders, staff, community partners, supporters and local leaders to recognize Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice’s history of service and the significance of its continued investment in the community. 

The program featured remarks from Dr. Lee-Anne West, President and CEO of Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice; Shobhana Sharma, Board Chair; and Councilmember Andrew Katz, who joined the organization in commemorating the opening and recognizing its continued role in providing compassionate care to Maryland families. Together, the speakers reflected the strong connections among Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice, the healthcare community, and the local leaders and partners who support its mission. 

For more than four decades, Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice has been a trusted resource for individuals and families navigating serious illness, providing hospice and palliative care grounded in dignity, comfort and connection. Today, the organization serves over 2,500 patients and families each year, carrying forward a legacy that began in 1981 while continuing to meet the changing needs of the communities it serves. 

The new King Farm office represents an investment not simply in a physical space, but in the organization’s ability to deliver that care more effectively. 

An improved intake and admissions area will strengthen the organization’s ability to respond to incoming calls and referrals, helping patients and families connect with care when they need it most. For families facing serious illness or considering hospice care, timely access to information, guidance and support can make a meaningful difference. 

The new space also creates greater opportunities to invest in the professionals providing that care. With continued community and philanthropic support, Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice will increase its capacity for onsite training and professional development for clinical teams, helping expand specialized care and ensuring staff have the knowledge, resources and expertise to meet increasingly complex patient needs.

The King Farm location also provides a collaborative environment for staff and strengthens the infrastructure needed to support the organization’s continued growth. As the needs of patients and families change, Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice remains focused on building the clinical expertise, operational capacity and community partnerships necessary to serve Maryland families for generations to come. 

The ribbon cutting carries particular significance as Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice celebrates 45 years of service in 2026. Since its founding in 1981, the organization has grown alongside the communities it serves while remaining grounded in its commitment to compassionate, patient- and family-centered care. 

The opening of the King Farm office builds upon that legacy, positioning Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice for its next chapter with greater responsiveness, expanded clinical expertise and stronger connections to the communities it has served for nearly half a century.
