Embracing comfort and dignity together
Hospice care is an empowering decision for those living with serious illness, one that prioritizes comfort, dignity, and personal choice. It allows individuals to take control of their care, focus on what matters most, and live each day with meaning and support.
At Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice, our skilled nonprofit team focuses on what matters most to you. We are here to ease pain, bring peace, and walk alongside families through every step of the journey. Our motto is Connect Sooner, Live Better.
A whole-person approach to care
Hospice care addresses more than just physical symptoms. It supports the emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of patients and those who love them. Care is personalized to your goals, values, and wishes whether that means managing discomfort, helping you stay at home, or supporting your family through caregiving and grief.
Our hospice services are typically available to individuals with a prognosis of six months or less. But what defines this time is not a number, it is how you choose to live it.
Personalized hospice services wherever you call home
- In-Home Hospice Care: Many patients receive care in their own homes. Our team visits regularly and is on call 24/7, bringing medications, supplies, and expert guidance directly to you.
- Hospice in Nursing and Assisted Living Facilities: For patients living in long-term care settings, we collaborate closely with facility staff to ensure coordinated, compassionate support.
- Inpatient Care at Casey House: When symptoms cannot be managed at home, patients may receive short-term care at Casey House, our 14-bed inpatient facility. Built exclusively for hospice care, Casey House provides 24/7 medical attention in a peaceful, home-like space designed for rest, privacy, and comfort.
A team built around you
Hospice care brings together a team of professionals and volunteers, each offering a different kind of support:
- Physicians and nurse practitioners oversee your medical care and manage symptoms
- Registered nurses provide ongoing assessment, education, and comfort
- Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) help with personal care, preserving dignity and independence
- Social workers offer emotional support and practical resources
- Spiritual counselors provide non-denominational support for peace, reflection, or faith

As one of the region’s only nonprofit hospices, we reinvest every dollar back into the community. That allows us to provide:
- Services for all eligible patients, regardless of insurance or ability to pay
- Comprehensive caregiver and family support
- Grief and bereavement programs at no cost
- Personalized attention that respects your background, culture, and choices
