Press Release: Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice Appoints Dr. Lee-Anne West as Chief Executive Officer

June 23, 2026

Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

Rockville, MD, June 23, 2026— Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice is pleased to announce that Dr. Lee-Anne West has been appointed Chief Executive Officer by the organization’s Board of Directors following her service as Interim CEO since January 2026.

A respected physician executive with extensive experience in hospice and palliative care, Dr. West has provided steady leadership during an important period of transition while helping to position the organization for future growth and long-term sustainability.

“Dr. West has demonstrated exceptional leadership, compassion, and strategic vision during her time as Interim CEO,” said Justin G. Reaves, Chair of the Board of Directors for Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice. “The Board has full confidence in her ability to lead this organization into its next chapter while remaining deeply committed to the mission and values that have guided Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice for 45 years. Her clinical expertise, operational experience, and unwavering commitment to patient-centered care make her uniquely suited for this role.”

Dr. West brings more than two decades of healthcare leadership experience spanning hospice, palliative medicine, clinical operations, inpatient care, and primary care. She most recently served as Associate Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations for Capital Caring Health, where she oversaw medical and clinical staff across Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia programs.

Prior to that role, Dr. West served as a Medical Director overseeing inpatient hospice units at Capital Caring Health and previously held leadership positions with Seasons Hospice (now AccentCare) in Maryland. Earlier in her career, she worked as an inpatient hospitalist, medical faculty member, and outpatient primary care physician.

Dr. West is a dual board-certified physician through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in both internal medicine, and hospice and palliative medicine. She earned her medical degree from St. Christopher’s College of Medicine in Luton, United Kingdom, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania.

“It is a tremendous honor to continue serving Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice in this new capacity,” said Dr. West. “Over the past year, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the extraordinary compassion and dedication of our staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners. As we celebrate our 45th anniversary under the theme ‘Lighting the Way,’ I look forward to building upon our strong foundation while expanding access to compassionate hospice and palliative care for the communities we serve.”

As CEO, Dr. West’s priorities will include strengthening access to hospice and palliative care services, investing in staff education and professional development, deepening community engagement, and ensuring the organization’s long-term financial sustainability.
